October 2026 ADGT Update
Thank you for joining our heritage conversations
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our two community heritage meetings in September, at Treslaig Hall and Ardgour Memorial Hall.
The meetings were an opportunity to start conversations about the history and heritage people would like to see explored, recorded and preserved across the Ardgour Community Council area, including Ardgour, Lochside and Kingairloch.
Lots of ideas came forward, including stories of the Clearances around Lochside, the history of Treslaig and Achaphubuil School, the local impact of the Battle of Inverlochy and the ’45, archaeology, crofting histories preserving our Gaelic heritage and more recent memories of life and crofting in the area.
If you weren’t able to join us, it’s not too late to get involved. We’d love to hear your ideas, and we’re keen to hear from anyone who has local stories, memories, photographs or documents that could help us build a fuller picture of the area’s history.
Please get in touch with us at enquiries@agdt.co.uk if you’d like to contribute.
Ardgour Community Housing
There has been more progress on the Ardgour Community Housing Project following our community meeting in July.
The current proposal is for six new homes for affordable rent at Clovullin, including two and three-bedroom homes and an adapted two-bedroom property. The Trustees have also agreed the area of land to be purchased and a sale price with Ardgour Estate.
A range of survey and feasibility work has now been carried out, and with support from Communities Housing Trust and architects Catoe Brown, work is progressing towards a full planning application.
There is still a significant amount of work and fundraising ahead before construction can begin. You can read our full September Housing Project update, including the current draft site layout, on our website:

Could you help with our community bikes?
Work is continuing on our community bike project, and we’re looking for local people who might be able to lend a hand.
We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone interested in helping with the bikes, including handling and moving them and supporting the project as it develops.
You don’t need to commit huge amounts of time. If you think you might be able to help, or would like to find out a bit more before deciding, please get in touch at enquiries@agdt.co.uk.
Got a local event coming up?
We want to make it easier for people to find out what’s happening across the local area, so if your community group, club or organisation has something coming up, please tell us about it.
We can add local events to the website and help share them through our community channels. Meetings, activities, fundraisers and other community events are all welcome, and you can send us a poster if you already have one.
Email the details to enquiries@agdt.co.uk. and we’ll help spread the word.
Keep in touch
There’s lots happening across the Trust’s projects over the coming months, and we’ll continue to share updates through De Tha Dol, our website and social media. Make sure you follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep in touch!
