Gaelic Conversation Circle
Ross Christie, an inspiring outdoor pursuits and language learning leader from Oban will be with us on Sunday 14th December for a bit of a Christmassy Cearcall. And unless we find ourselves in truly unseasonal weather, we'll meet next door to the brewery in the Telford church's meeting room at 3pm.
Our buddy chat will focus on what we like (or don't like!) to do for Christmas, traditions, family must-haves etc etc. And Ross will then be holding a fun bilingual quiz which should be excellent craic! Prizes still to be determined.

This month’s gathering will be led by Eilidh Cameron-Sykes, who brings a wealth of knowledge about local history, language and culture. Eilidh’s family roots run deep in Ballachulish, and she’s currently involved with the Glencoe Museum and other heritage projects – as well as leading another Gaelic circle in Cille Chuimein (Fort Augustus).
Our October session will include:
- Conversation practice on the theme of travel
- A deep dive into trees and their connections with Gaelic and the Gaels
We’ll be indoors this time, in the cosy kirk session room beside the brewery, with tea and coffee as before.
Everyone’s welcome, whether you’re fluent, learning, or just curious!

Public Meeting: Have your say on a Sports Facility in Ardgour
Thursday 18th September at 7pm in Ardgour Memorial Hall, the community will come together to look at draft designs for a new Multi-Use Sports Area.
We want to install equipment and a playing surface for all ages, but we need your input before funding applications can go ahead.

Beach Play with Ardgour Church
Ardgour Church are organising a fun Beach Play session at Sallachan Beach on Monday 18th August from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
The plan is to build a massive sandcastle, so bring your buckets, spades and plenty of imagination!
Snacks will be provided, but please bring a water bottle, suncream and suitable clothing. Young people should come with a responsible adult.
Weather permitting, there may also be a chance to try canoeing or paddleboarding. If you’d like to take part, bring appropriate clothing and a buoyancy aid if you have one.
