April 2026:
AGDT Community Update
AGDT AGM and Community Supper
We’re looking forward to bringing the community together for this year’s AGM, taking place on the evening of Wednesday 13 May in Ardgour Hall.
Alongside the formal meeting, there will be a chance to view and discuss some of the key projects currently in development, including plans for the proposed Recreation Area and MUGA, as well as an update on housing at Clovullin. A hot meal will be provided, making it a relaxed and welcoming evening for everyone to come along, find out more and share their thoughts.
This year also brings some changes, with Elizabeth Carmichael and Pete White retiring after many years of dedicated service! We are keen to welcome new people onto the Board to help shape and support the next stage of community projects. We are also looking for a Treasurer to join the team, although day-to-day bookkeeping support already in place.
If you’re interested in getting involved, either as a member or as part of the Board, you can find more information on our website or speak to one of the current Trustees.
Ardgour’s First Litter-Pick Week and Beach Clean
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in Ardgour’s first Litter-Pick Week. It was fantastic to see so many people getting involved, with a special mention to our local young volunteers who did an incredible job clearing beaches on both sides of Ardgour.
Eleven valiant volunteers stepped up to fill half a skip of rubbish at the Sallachan Community Beach, and a brilliant example of what can be achieved when people come together. The home baking, soup, teas and coffees were very much appreciated and kept everyone going throughout the day.
Thanks also to those who contributed behind the scenes, whether that was helping organise, providing refreshments or simply turning up and lending a hand, even for a short time. We are also grateful to Ardgour Estate, Bowmans Skip Hire and Charles Brand for their support in making the event possible.
Current Projects
Clovullin Housing Development – work continues on the feasibility work for the planned housing development at Clovullin, and during April and May contractors will be on site conducting site surveys to confirm suitability for building. We have received initial feedback from Highland Council, and conducted a tree survey, with topographic and drainage works being finalised.
MUGA Site and Recreation Area
Site surveys are also being completed for the area opposite the Village Hall and initial design ideas will be shared at the AGM on 12th May.
Treslaig Hall – the report recommending the next phase of energy efficiency improvements has been received and over the coming weeks contractors will be asked to provide estimates for future work.
Ardgour Hall – The new car charger for Urram Transport is now installed and operational and the village will soon have an electric car available for the Urram Car Club and hospital transport journeys. Contractors will be appointed soon to paint the exterior of the Hall prior to solar panels being installed.
