MAY 2025 AGM UPDATE

The Annual General Meeting of the Ardgour Glensanda Development Trust was held on 14th May 2025.

Two retiring Trustees, standing down as part of the three-year rotation cycle, were re-elected—one pending confirmation. There were no changes to the Office Bearers for 2026. We were pleased to welcome Richard Stevens (Treslaig) and Irene Evison (Clovullin) to the Board, which now comprises:
Trish Kennedy (Chair), Michael Foxley (Vice Chair), Ian Jackson (Secretary), Pete White (Treasurer), James Campbell, Elizabeth Carmichael, and Tony Boyd.

The meeting noted one remaining Trustee vacancy. The Board is particularly keen to receive nominations from the Kingairloch / Kilmalieu area to ensure a good geographical spread of representation.

The AGM also welcomed 15 members of the public, who heard reports from the Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary, along with updates from the Development Officer and Publicist on their work over the past nine months. A meal catered by Ardgour Ales was enjoyed before the meeting.

Work continues on key priorities identified in the Ardgour Place Plan, with several additional ‘pop-up’ funding opportunities being actively pursued. Current workstreams include:

  • Preparation of proposals for new footpaths and improvements at Camusnagaul ferry terminal, including the slipway, passenger shelter, bike shed, and EV charger.

  • Community acquisition of land opposite Ardgour Memorial Hall for future amenity use.

  • Development of new footpaths and recreational routes through local woodlands.

  • Support for Treslaig and Ardgour Halls in installing renewable energy systems.

  • Initial funding secured to begin developing an affordable housing project of up to six units in Ardgour, with agreement in principle from the landowner.

  • Four external funding applications were submitted during the year, two of which were successful—bringing in £25,500 for the area. This funding supports the next phase of repairs and a condition survey for Ardgour Memorial Hall, as well as the creation of Gaelic resources and a series of social events to promote everyday Gaelic usage and heritage guides. Three additional expressions of interest were submitted but were unfortunately unsuccessful.

  • Plans for a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) or MUSA at Ardgour Primary School are progressing, with a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday 27th May.
